    Default Skin Discoloration

Hi guys ! I am an Indian and of fair color. I used to live in Europe with my family and moved back to India a year ago. After arriving back home, my skin began to change dramatically from fair to dark. I consulted a skin specialist about this and he prescribed me a cream for clearing pigmentation. I used it for six months as prescribed. I have also returned back to Europe but my skin still remains as it is. Now, my face and hands are of dark color and the rest of my body remains fair. Is there any way to get my color back to normal ? Thanks to all in advance.

Hi Rony! You seem to get sunburnt by the strong rays, as the darkness are concentrated in the areas of exposure. I think regular application of appropriate sunscreen with SPF 30 or above, 2-3 times/day may slowly help you protect from harmful effect of sun . With the normal skin turnover time which is about 47-48 days you may shed your burnt skin and gain back your original color.

Rony don't be afraid he's right its happened due to excessive exposure of the sunlight. Your real skin color will be back with the time. You can also try the sunscreen lotion which my friend has told you in the above post.

Thank you, guys. My doctor gave me the same advice. I used a sunscreen with SPF 45 along with a cream (BANATAN) used lightening pigmentation that he prescribed. I have been using all this time and haven't had any actual improvement. I want to if there are any methods I can follow that will actually give results........

If that cream (BANATAN) is not working, change it. You may apply products containing tretinoin, hydroquinone, kojic acid or arbutin. For effective result u may use tretinoin+hydroquinone and kojic acid+arbutin every alternate nights.

Remember, these products can cause permanent damage to the skin if not used as advised. strict sun avoidance and use of broad specrtum sunscreen is must. Also, these products should be applied only during night and not more than once daily.

Thank You Deepak...Hope this will work. One of my friends also recommended to me a procedure called Chemical Peeling. I did quite a bit of research on this procedure. Anyway, I am not sure about it. Is it really a good option for me ?

I don't think that chemical peeling is what you need.
There are to much to say about chemical peeling so I invite you to read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_peel

Your skin is affected by sun rays if you will use any sunscreen regularly with 30 before going outside. If the weather is cloudy then also use sunscreen. It will take time to gain back the color. If you will use regularly SPF then it will be back your original color.
