    Default Toothpaste Burn!! Help!!

Ok hi! Erm, 2 days ago I read that if you put toothpaste on black heads it get rid of them... So I put my Colgate toothpaste on, under my left eye and all up m nose. I left it on for a night.... (When I was falling asleep, it stung a lot; I thought it was a side affect). When I woke up in the morning I washed it off and it was BRIGHT RED!!!! I put toner on it but it made it more red so I just cleansed my Face and left it. After two days, my "burn" feels all crusty. It isn't as flary bit is still noticable.

How long will it take for it to heel? Will it leave a scar? Any treatments I should put on? If it goes, will the black heads be gone? , I'm going trick-or-treating with friends on Wednesday and I do not know what to say about how I got the burn etc. because I feel REALLY stupid! Please help!!!!!

BY THE WAY, I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH VITALIGO A FEW MONTHS BACK
    Thanks,
    Jo

I haven't heard of putting toothpaste on blackheads. I have heard of it for acne.

I would recommend that you use a moisturizer with Shea butter to sooth your skin. It will take a few days to heal. You need to hydrate your skin as the toothpaste burnt it so it is dry now

Perfect advice. Applying just shea butter (unrefined if possible) after cleansing will help repair your skin.

Yes it works because it dries the pimples out. however, it doesn't kill bacteria, just dries the thing out, so the same thing is likely to return. and it doesn't help prevent new pimples. try a toner or biore nose strips or a masque to get the dirt out of your pores, and relieve your skin.

She used it on blackheads not pimples. I wouldn't advise her to use any toner, strips or masque until her skin heals.

Toothpaste does have anti-bacterial properties so it does kills bacteria.

I agree in moderation it does help but overused it can cause a dry reaction on the skin. The best thing anyone can do in this situation is to avoid harsh products as the area needs a natural product like shea butter to repair the skin. Once back to normal another form of combating the blackheads can be tried.
