How do I stop the ends of my hair splitting?

I have just had my hair cut and my ends are really nice, I am going to the Caribbean so my hair will bein the sun alot and it will be in salt water (not pool water).
I will have to wash it every night, my hair can get quite dry so how can I prevent my ends splitting and getting dry?

To stop split ends problem I will suggest you to always tie your hair when you are in the sun or cover them with a cloth. Don't loose them open. Also have regular basis trimming and oil your hair before you wash then.

I think trimming is the only way to get rid of split ends.
