What is this thing on my foot?

Hi there,

I had this thing on my foot for almost a year now

Can anybody please tell me what is it and how do i get rid of it

And should i consult a Doctor?

i have the same problem for years. dont know how to get rid of this. if any one know plz tell me. i have this on my left feet only

is this lesion on the area of skin just above the heel?is it itchy? what kind of shoes wear do you use?It seems like hypertrophy of skin due to repeated rubbing of the area and fissuring of thick hard skin on that area.the skin of legs are usually easy to get very dry due to poor circulation of the part, so the area of skin prone to repeated injury are usually thickened as the coutermechanism of protection of area but due to thick and hard skin are unelastic its easy crack.So i think choosing comfortable footwear may help you, also soaking legs in water for few minutes and imediately applying moisture followed by occlusive dressing every night may help.
