Why my lips are getting black

I am a 20-year-old girl and my lips are getting black. Though I don't smoke, then why such things are happening. I am extremely worried over this. Please suggest a remedy.

Lip colour shouldn’t be a cause of worry as lip/skin colour is attributed to genetics. However, it may occur to some because of habits like lip biting, lip licking, lip peeling.and if its cause my drinking excess tea or coffee then cut down your drinking habits...you can visit your doctor to rule out any medical causes..


You may try application of lemon juice daily. Visit a cosmetic-clinic for new age solutions like “permanent lipstick” to have a natural pinkish colour of your lips. This technique is very safe and without any side effects.

The color of a skin, hair, lips is genetically inherited. The dark color may be a reaction to a drug or allergy to some cosmetic. Use a medicated lip balm and take vitaminC, and other dietary supplements.

Cosmetically, you can try to select shades of lipstick, using your natural tone of lips to an advantage. Try using sheer glosses which are also much in fashion.

If you like nature’s therapy, then rub rose petals on your lip early morning. It helps. Alternatively, morning dew is helpful.

you can use kojic acid containing products like clearz and kojivit gels they are good at lightening your lips.

can clearz and kojivit gels be used for male too ? i have dark lips too..
