Since the last few months, i have noticed my big toenail is turning yellow. I can't remember any injuries to that toenail. Why is that happening? any suggestions?

Might need to see a podiatrist for either lamisil tablet, after careful evaluation of blood analysis. Or may use topical anti fungal such as penlac

If your nail is undergoing color changes along with thickening, crumbling and tunneling underneath the nails may be you need to check for fungal infection( tinea unguium).

Is your nail only getting yellow or does it has some fungus on it such as peeling and other tipe of things, you should go to a doctor and have a better look at this, that way you can know what kind of treatment is best for you.

yellow toenails usually do not go away on their own. Some tips are:
Always wear clean socks and shoes that are made of breathable materials.
Avoid walking barefoot in areas that are public and damp.
Avoid coming into contact with anyone with a fungal infection.
Clean and dry your feet and toes thoroughly and daily.
Talk with your doctor about all possible treatment methods before using the product and the first sign of discoloration.
Maintain proper foot and toenail hygiene.
Never cut your nails too short, and always cut them straight across.

You can use whitening solutions for whitening yellowing nails such as baking soda, hydrogen peroxide etc.
