about tanning bed

I guess lots of you have heard about skin cancer, skin problems and other skin disease. Mostly, I have heard about the problem people are facing due to tanned skin. Direct sun tan is harmful for skin, lotion used while suntanning is injurious to skin. That result skin cancer, skin rashes, sun burn, etc.
Recently, I have heard someone saying that tanning salons, tanning beds are good for skin and also beneficial for other proposes too.
Do you have any idea about it?

well i have first hand knowledge that tanning booths can cause skin cancer. i know this because my daughter got basil cell carcinoma in spots that would be covered if she were tanning in the sun. she had 2 spots one on her hip and one right between her breasts. the surgeon and dermatologist said it was from the tanning bed.
