Forum Usage and Posting Policy

Last Updated: 2010 April: 27th discussion forums are open to anyone to discuss about skin care topics including hair care and other health issues. We do not remove posts that we think are useful to other members of our forums and guests, but we do remove posts we consider offensive, indecent, malicious or unrelated to the purpose of these forums. We also remove posts that are intended to promote third party products and services.

We encourage participation by people of all experience levels; however, we encourage people who are new to to do a little basic reading about requirements and posting guides prior to posting. Basic information on posting guidelines on can be found HERE

Member Names and Personal Information: While DermaTalk does not prohibit the use of nicknames for your username in our forums, please refrain from using anything offensive username. If you choose a username that, in our sole discretion, is obscene, indecent, abusive or which might otherwise subject us to public disparagement, we reserve the right, without prior notice to you, to automatically change your username, delete your posts from our sites, deny you access to our sites, or any combination of these options. And also never post a message under another person's name or pretending to be another person.

All users who joined the site are considered as non medical professionals. Users pretending to be a medical personal will be deleted and denied access to our site. Email and Private message Services: The Email and private message services provided on Dermatalk are for the convenience of Forum users only. They are not to be used for commercial purposes or spamming. Spam is defined as "unsolicited usually commercial e-mail sent to a large number of addresses." Using this forum as a platform for many, impersonal messages qualifies as spam. Any violation of this policy should be reported to the DermaTalk immediately; violators will be blocked or banned.

Topics of Discussion: While these discussion forums on DermaTalk encourage a wide range of opinions, please keep your posts focused on the topic of the forum in which you are submitting your message. The title of the post should reflect the content of the the post your are submitting. Do not use a non-descriptive title to draw attention to your post. Responses to posts should be made as "Reply" posts. Improperly titled or placed posts may be moved or deleted.

The user must post informations which are true and correct to their knowledge. Any irreverent, inappropriate medical advices or advice intended to harm others are prohibited on DermaTalk.

User may edit, modify or even delete their own posts if they think the post or any sort of medical advice they give are incorrect or not sufficient to support the cause. The edit, delete or modify bottom will be available for atleast 2 hours after they post the content. Though, they can ask for moderators or support staffs anytime to get the content removed or edited. Moderators or support staffs may edit or delete the content as per their request following the posting guidelines policy.

The forum is moderated by dedicated moderators and administrator who have years of experience in community management. These moderators visit the forum on daily basis. If you have any problems you can contact them directly using the " Contact Us" form.

The use of inappropriate or offensive language is not permitted in these forums. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind.

Copyrighted or Trademarked Materials: We encourage you to share your personal experiences with community members provided that you have undergone yourself. Any sorts of medical advice or informations that is copyrighted or trademarked are prohibited in the forums without the expressed permission of the owner or the author, unless you hold the copyright or trademark. This includes reproducing the full text of medical advice, stories, articles, etc. Though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source of reference to the medical content, whenever possible. We suggest you to provide all source of reference informations related to the posts you are posting on the forums.

Posting Advertisement Links, Self promotions and spamming: Members may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another member's question or is just of general interest to members of that particular forum. Dermatalk won't allow people to use any advertisement links, images or content for the purpose of self promotion outside of the "DermaTalk Market Place". DermaTalk shall have the right to remove such contents and deny you access to oyr site. However, We always welcome members to link to any online resource, whether it's on our site or any other site, in order to share useful information and advices with fellow members.

Advertising & Promotions Policy

Updated: 2010 April 27th is funded by the revenue generated from third party advertisement networks. DermaTalk hosts several third party advertisement banners and sponsored links. These advertisement are clearly distinguished by the word "Advertisement" or "sponsors" or "partners" . All advertising on DermaTalk including banners, badges, contextual Advertising, Sponsored Content, and Promotions is subject to this policy.This guidelines govern issues related to acceptance of Advertisements and Promotions by DermaTalk. DermaTalk has sole discretion for determining the types of Advertising that will be accepted and displayed on the DermaTalk Network, Dermatalk will not accept Advertising that, in Dermatalk's opinion, is not appropriate. DermaTalk may change this policy at any time in its sole discretion by posting a revised policy to the DermaTalk Site.

There are certain categories of advertisements that Dermatalk will not permit on the DermaTalk Network at any time. These categories include but are not limited to the following:

8. Unreasonable, unlikely or extraordinary product or service claims.
9. Media or messages that contain unsubstantiated "miracle" Beauty or other miracle claims of cure.
10. Advertising units that extend beyond the defined advertising space or interfere with the content or impact the readability of the content without user initiation.

Dermatalk reserves the right to reject, cancel, or remove at any time any Advertising from the Dermatalk Site for any reason and will provide prompt notice to the advertiser upon rejection, cancellation, or removal of any Advertising, together with an explanation following the rejection, cancellation, or removal. Dermatalk also reserves the right to determine the appropriate placement of the Advertising on the Dermatalk Site.

Advertisers must be responsible to comply with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, including applicable laws and regulations of regulatory bodies. This includes pharmaceutical or affiliates advertising to consumers or physicians that must comply with FDA guidelines for Direct to Consumer and Direct to Physician.Dermatalk will not monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations. However, Dermatalk reserves the right to review all Advertising for compliance with applicable laws and regulations and, if Dermatalk becomes aware of any breach or potential breach of any applicable law or regulation or of these guidelines, DermaTalk may remove the Advertising.

No Advertising will be allowed on the Dermatalk Network that could injure the good name or reputation of Dermatalk.
