Dermabrasion is a surgical skin resurfacing procedure which involves removal of skin layer often used in acne scars, deep facial lines and wrinkles. Its used for major problems.

On the other hand microdermabrasion is also a skin resurfacing technique,it is mainly used for minor problems (ie superficial skin layer) where fine tiny crystals are used to remove the layer. With this procedure only fine lines, dull skin, brown spots or mild acne acars or age spots can be removed. For more deeper scars and so surgical Dermabrasion is needed.
