    Default Can Bile affect acne???

hi all....ive suffered from acne my whole life, as im sure u all understand. however, recently i went on holiday and caute salmonella food poisoning. this caused by 'bile' level to increase dramatically. Now...although the overproduction of bile did weaken me in other ways, it TOTALLY GOT RID OF MY ACNE. i literally had completely clear skin for at least 3 months. But, recently is my bile levels have normalised and ive been feeling better, my acne has come back. 'as one window opens, another slams shut right in ur face!'. can anyone help me understand y this happened and if my body is lackin in something it got from the overproduction of bile?

    many thanx

Yes, increased bile acid can sometimes "aggravate acne". It doesn't surely cause them, but can enhance their breakouts. The reasons are many and the main one is liver dysfunction. If your liver is not working well, your metabolism will be affected and that in turn can result in accumulation of harmful substances in your body that can in turn aggravate and sometimes cause acne.

    Hope that helps!
