Default Is steam bath useful to us?

I have heard that steam bath rejuvenates the body and soul. How to prepare such kind of bath and in what ways it is useful to us?

Steam bath is really very helpful for the body and soul. It eliminates all the toxins from the body. Steam opens the pores and causes sweating, as a result, toxins get excreted from the pores. Thus the body gets relaxed and clean, which in turn has a direct effect over the brain and soul.

Steam bathing is a lot more than just sweating and scrubbing. At its best, it comes close to being a sacred ritual that cleanses and refreshes both body & soul. It has some special benefits to respiratory diseases – asthma. As far as the skin care is concerned, it washes your body better than soap because steam unlocks the pores and washes out dead cells. Simultaneously, it relaxes your muscle from any kind of tension increasing blood circulation.
There is no right way to take a sauna – temp. & style vary. The ideal temp. is between 80C and 100C although it can be cooler 30C. How long you sit in sauna is entirely up to you.

of course! i personally think that i need it whenever i'm stressed out because it calms me down so much. its good for your skin too, you should have a steam bath before you exfoliate so that your pores will be open, and after so that your skin is ready to absorb the oils of your lotion.

    Very good advice there.

If you are willing to spend, this is a relaxing way to induce sweating, hence eliminating toxin and also opening up pores for better nutrient absorption. Add herbs and essential oil into the water for aromatherapy effect and nutrient absorption. Sauna on the other hand could be too drying for female skin.

Steaming will also make your pores open up so be sure to shower with cold running water after you get a steam bath or a sauna. Otherwise, all your pores will become open and it'll increase the possibility of having blackheads. Yuck! I agree though, it can be very relaxing especially for your tired and sore muscles.

Steam baths are not for everyone, and are not beneficial just like that.

Many people get allergic reaction to the heat. It is a variety of cholinergic urticaria. The cause is not clear, but some people are allergic to their own sweat.

Hot water melts the lipid layer on the skin and may cause itchiness in people who already have dry skin.

The combination of dry cold weather with super hot baths or showers will aggravate this itchiness for some people. If you cannot give up your hot showers and baths, try a supplement of 50mg of vitamin B6, which helps the body to create anti-histamines and reduces itching.
