From what you have describe,it seems like that you are getting a hypertropic scar.Normally when a would heals,it is initially reddish and then midly hyper pigmented. But sometimes if the would is not properly managed (that is if it is infected) or there is genetic predisposition, the healing process is followed by raised scars. There are two types of raised scars-one that can regress and is known as hypertropic scar and the one which progresses called keloid.

You should wait for some more time, one or two-weeks for the healing process to complete.Stop CSS cream as it may have given you allergic contact dermatitis.Keep the wound clean and protect from sun exposure.

Hypertropic scars are treated with topical steroids, intralesional radio therapy and laser therapy and radio therapy. For any of these treatments,a dermatologist consultation is necesary.

I agree with 010081, you are probably developing a hypertrophic scar that results from tissue overgrowth in the affected area. But don't worry, its natural to have it. You can get it removed with some cosmetic surgery as that will be the permanent cure for it.

there are scar creams out there that lessen the appearance of scars as they help your skin heal. i think there's one called mederma (sp?) that you can find in your drugstore...but i think they're for children though..
