I love E45 cream (not lotion). I also use the moisturising gloves (and socks) once a week with the cream and I don't have any problems with dry skin.

I get such bad hands in Winter! It really gets to me. I have to use a big tub of Diprobase from the Doctor's, It's a medicated moisturiser but it can also be used instead of soap (because that doesn't help) and then I slather on the hand cream all day every day!
And no cream ever felt strong enough. I should say that by now the Doctor told me it was just dry skin, no other condition, but it looked really nasty!
My Mum had some L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream in her bedroom, it was a gift, I tried that (also tried E45!) and gosh, it was a life saver, such a relief. I definitely think it was down to the Shea butter and now only use hand creams that contain that.
My hands are perfectly fine in the Spring/Summer however!

Lucy, give the moisturising gloves a go. Slap on a thickish layer of cream on hands and wear the gloves for a few hours, or overnight. I do this with either E45 or my own shea butter concoction.

Cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, pure lanolin and petroleum jelly are home remedies to treat rough dry hands.

I use glycerine or any type of cold cream to avoid the dry skin of face and hands.

Not rinsing off your bodies natural oils and using ultra dry skin lotions work for me.
