DermaTalk.com gathers two basic types of information about users:

1. Message boards/forums
In order to use many of DermaTalk.com's features, tools and services, we ask you to register to become a member,although you needn't register just to visit the site. . During this member registration process, we will ask you for personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, zip code, country, time zone, gender, birthdate, member name and password. DermaTalk uses the information it gathers for several purposes, such as to understand more about our audience demographics, and to communicate with you if necessary.

2. Electronic newsletters:
DermaTalk.com may email its users periodically to inform them about the status of, or upcoming changes to the site. In addition, DermaTalk.com may email a user at any time regarding issues with his/her account. DermaTalk.com does not send promotional, or commercial emails to its users without permission.DermaTalk.com gathers the email addresses of users who voluntarily subscribe. Users may remove themselves from this mailing list by following the link provided in every newsletter that points users to the subscription management page. Users can also subscribe to the newsletters at the time of registration.

3. Polling
We may offer interactive polls to users so they can easily share their opinions with other users and see what our audience thinks about important issues. Opinions or other responses to polls are aggregated and are not identifiable to any particular user.DermaTalk.com may use a system to "tag" users after they have voted, so they can vote only once on a particular question. This tag is not correlated with information about individual users.

B. Information gathered by DermaTalk.com

When you visit DermaTalk.com and interact with the site, DermaTalk may collect information on your actions. This type of information is generally collected from two sources. One is from the server log files, which tracks your IP address, and the other is from cookies.

Log Files:
As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocal) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Shaw Cable), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information and is only used for site administration, research and development, and anonymous user analysis.

Members are responsible to know and follow DermaTalk.com Policies and Guidelines. Placements on the message boards -- including, but not limited to websites, information, commentaries, materials, products and services -- that, in the sole judgment of DermaTalk.com appear to violate the Policies & Guidelines of DermaTalk.com shall be removed . Members may be banned entirely at the Administrator or moderator's discretion.

2. The contents of the DermaTalk.com like text, images, graphics and other materials are for informational purposes only. The Content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. 9. DermaTalk.com shall have the right to use questions, comments and postings submitted by members in articles, commentaries or other materials both online and offline. No compensation shall be earned, due, or payable for such use. All posts become the property of DermaTalk.com, to be removed, altered, and/or used.

10. All the moderators and support staffs at DermaTalk.com are volunteers. They are not affiliated to any pharmaceutical companies or products .The advice and support provided by them are not affiliated or controlled by third party.

Forum Usage and Posting Policy

DermaTalk.com discussion forums are open to anyone to discuss about skin care topics including hair care and other health issues. We do not remove posts that we think are useful to other members of our forums and guests, but we do remove posts we consider offensive, indecent, malicious or unrelated to the purpose of these forums. We also remove posts that are intended to promote third party products and services.

We encourage participation by people of all experience levels; however, we encourage people who are new to Dermatalk.com to do a little basic reading about Dermatalk.com requirements and posting guides prior to posting. Basic information on posting guidelines on DermaTalk.com can be found HERE

Posting to the Dermatalk.com constitutes your agreement to the terms discussed as below in this Forum Posting Policy.

Member Names and Personal Information: While DermaTalk does not prohibit the use of nicknames for your username in our forums, please refrain from using anything offensive username. If you choose a username that, in our sole discretion, is obscene, indecent, abusive or which might otherwise subject us to public disparagement, we reserve the right, without prior notice to you, to automatically change your username, delete your posts from our sites, deny you access to our sites, or any combination of these options. And also never post a message under another person's name or pretending to be another person.

All users who joined the site are considered as non medical professionals. Users pretending to be a medical personal will be deleted and denied access to our site. If you are a medical personal and want to contribute to our site please " Contact Us" .We will send you the details required to verify you as a medical professional.

Email and Private message Services: The Email and private message services provided on Dermatalk are for the convenience of Forum users only. They are not to be used for commercial purposes or spamming. Spam is defined as "unsolicited usually commercial e-mail sent to a large number of addresses." Using this forum as a platform for many, impersonal messages qualifies as spam. Any violation of this policy should be reported to the DermaTalk immediately; violators will be blocked or banned.

Topics of Discussion: While these discussion forums on DermaTalk encourage a wide range of opinions, please keep your posts focused on the topic of the forum in which you are submitting your message. The title of the post should reflect the content of the the post your are submitting. Do not use a non-descriptive title to draw attention to your post. Responses to posts should be made as "Reply" posts. Improperly titled or placed posts may be moved or deleted.

The user must post informations which are true and correct to their knowledge. Any irreverent, inappropriate medical advices or advice intended to harm others are prohibited on DermaTalk.

User may edit, modify or even delete their own posts if they think the post or any sort of medical advice they give are incorrect or not sufficient to support the cause. The edit, delete or modify bottom will be available for atleast 2 hours after they post the content. Though, they can ask for moderators or support staffs anytime to get the content removed or edited. Moderators or support staffs may edit or delete the content as per their request following the posting guidelines policy.

The forum is moderated by dedicated moderators and administrator who have years of experience in community management. These moderators visit the forum on daily basis. If you have any problems you can contact them directly using the " Contact Us" form.

The use of inappropriate or offensive language is not permitted in these forums. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind.

Copyrighted or Trademarked Materials: We encourage you to share your personal experiences with community members provided that you have undergone yourself. Any sorts of medical advice or informations that is copyrighted or trademarked are prohibited in the forums without the expressed permission of the owner or the author, unless you hold the copyright or trademark. This includes reproducing the full text of medical advice, stories, articles, etc. Though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source of reference to the medical content, whenever possible. We suggest you to provide all source of reference informations related to the posts you are posting on the forums.

Posting Advertisement Links, Self promotions and spamming: Members may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another member's question or is just of general interest to members of that particular forum. Dermatalk won't allow people to use any advertisement links, images or content for the purpose of self promotion outside of the "DermaTalk Market Place". DermaTalk shall have the right to remove such contents and deny you access to oyr site. However, We always welcome members to link to any online resource, whether it's on our site or any other site, in order to share useful information and advices with fellow members.

Advertising & Promotions Policy

DermaTalk.com is funded by the revenue generated from third party advertisement networks. DermaTalk hosts several third party advertisement banners and sponsored links. These advertisement are clearly distinguished by the word "Advertisement" or "sponsors" or "partners" . All advertising on DermaTalk including banners, badges, contextual Advertising, Sponsored Content, and Promotions is subject to this policy.This guidelines govern issues related to acceptance of Advertisements and Promotions by DermaTalk. DermaTalk has sole discretion for determining the types of Advertising that will be accepted and displayed on the DermaTalk Network, Dermatalk will not accept Advertising that, in Dermatalk's opinion, is not appropriate. DermaTalk may change this policy at any time in its sole discretion by posting a revised policy to the DermaTalk Site.

There are certain categories of advertisements that Dermatalk will not permit on the DermaTalk Network at any time. These categories include but are not limited to the following:

1. Illegal or objectionable products.
2. Fraudulent, deceptive, illicit, misleading or offensive material.
3. Alcohol and tobacco use of any kind.
4. Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or fireworks.
5. Gambling and pornography or related themes.
6. The simulation of news or an emergency.
7. Material that directly advertises products to or is intended to attract children.
8. Unreasonable, unlikely or extraordinary product or service claims.
9. Media or messages that contain unsubstantiated "miracle" Beauty or other miracle claims of cure.
10. Advertising units that extend beyond the defined advertising space or interfere with the content or impact the readability of the content without user initiation.


Dermatalk reserves the right to reject, cancel, or remove at any time any Advertising from the Dermatalk Site for any reason and will provide prompt notice to the advertiser upon rejection, cancellation, or removal of any Advertising, together with an explanation following the rejection, cancellation, or removal. Dermatalk also reserves the right to determine the appropriate placement of the Advertising on the Dermatalk Site.

Advertisers must be responsible to comply with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, including applicable laws and regulations of regulatory bodies. This includes pharmaceutical or affiliates advertising to consumers or physicians that must comply with FDA guidelines for Direct to Consumer and Direct to Physician.Dermatalk will not monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations. However, Dermatalk reserves the right to review all Advertising for compliance with applicable laws and regulations and, if Dermatalk becomes aware of any breach or potential breach of any applicable law or regulation or of these guidelines, DermaTalk may remove the Advertising.

No Advertising will be allowed on the Dermatalk Network that could injure the good name or reputation of Dermatalk.
