Hello Everyone,
I need help to get rid of my ugly dark circles. I would like to go natural or organic way.
Also I wear glasses and i have heard that going for lenses instead, would help. Is that true?
Can dark circles be hereditary?
Thanks!

Apply potato juice on effected areas. It has no side-effects and works well.

Home Remedies To get rid of dark circles:

1. Tomatoes are highly effective for treating dark circles. You can prepare a mixture using 1 teaspoon of fresh tomato juice, ½ teaspoon of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric and gram flour (besan). Apply it gently under the eye and leave it for ten minutes and then rinse it off.

2. Tea bags are also considered as a beneficial treatment for dark circles. Place one cold tea bag on each eye and let it rest for a while. Pat it dry and you will see your eyes rejuvenated.

3. Crushed mint is a good option for treating under eye dark circles. It gives a cooling effect and immediately soothes tired eyes, which help to reduce dark circles. Place crushed mint leaves around the eyes and leave it for a while. Wipe off the residue with damp cotton.

4. Water is the most essential component and the pillar of all remedies. It promotes proper blood circulation around the eyes and prevents blood accumulation. Drink around 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to flush off toxins and have a healthy skin.

5. Eat fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and iron. Blend 2 fresh tomatoes, lemon juice and a pinch of salt and drink the juice daily or every alternate day for a healthy skin and refreshed eyes.

Tea-bags - after they've been in hot water, not just dry tea bags. I think it's to do with the caffeine.

Drink plenty of water. PLENTY of water.

Sleep well, try to go to bed at a regular time and wake up at a regular time, getting at least 6-7 hours sleep a night.

Eat well. As little fried food as possible. Eat more fruit and veg. Cut oily foods out as much as possible

Healthy sleep habits! For sure.

Also healthy diet & lifestyle. If you just want to cover them up, then I would google "home remedies for dark circles" (like cucumber slices) & find some good (natural) cover up.

The very first and foremost thing to get rid of the dark circles is to sleep well and don't keep yourself awaken for so long. Along with the same, you must take good care of your eyes as they are extremely sensitive. For that you can wash them with cold or Luke warm water time and again in a day. Heading towards the home remedies for dark circles... I'll tell you the one I use for myself, Its a Tomato paste. It is one of the most effective remedies for dark circles. You can make it easily at home. Take one or two fresh tomatoes, one tablespoon of lemon juice and a pinch of gram flour and turmeric powder. Mix them and apply on your eyes. NOT TO FORGET TO KEEP THE EYES CLOSE...

I am sure this will work for you as it did for me.

Hi,
You can apply potatoes slice on the affected area or cucumber juice, but it will take a long time to recover, from my point of you have to go for dermatologist. If you don't want to go then, you can use Eyevage cream it is scientifically proven and tested by a dermatologist. Hope it will help to recover.

1) Every one should have at least 8 hours sleep to keep the body and mind fit and to keep the dark circles at bay.
2) Drink plenty of fluids at least 2 liters of water a day to keep the skin smooth and supple.
3) Potato juice has bleaching agents in it, so you can take potato juice out and apply it on your skin. You can soak cotton balls in the juice and can keep them on your eyes for at least 20 minutes while having rest. It helps in reducing the dark circles.
4) Grated cucumber juice is very useful for dark circles. You can apply it on the eyes the same way you apply potato juice.
5) Always go out in sun wearing sunglasses and after applying sunscreen lotion on the skin around the eyes.
6) Take a teaspoonful of milk powder and apply honey to it. Put this paste on the skin on the dark circles. It helps in reducing the dark circles.

With healthy lifestyle, sleeping enough and drinking enough of water it is a way to go. You can also try an Olive night creme from madefromearth.com

Olive oil and organic olive butter helps to improve skin elasticity, while moisturizing to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The beauty benefit of olive oil is it allows for easy absorption to combat dryness. Since olive oil is a rich source of antioxidants, it has been proven to protect against skin aging.

Cold compress to get rid of dark circles under eyes naturally. You can take anything that is cold and spot on the area around your eyes. To get rid of dark circles, you can utilize cold milk, iced water, an ice bag, frozen spoon. Also, chilled potato, cucumber and pineapple are effective to get rid of dark circles under eyes.

Make sure you're getting enough sleep and have a proper diet. Don't stress too much as it can cause restless sleep. Also maybe find a good, natural face oil to help hydrate your skin. Hydration is very important plus the oil would add nutrients directly to the problem area.

Cut a fresh cucumber into thick slices and chill it for about 30 minutes. Place the slices on the dark circles for about 10 minutes. Wash the area thoroughly with water. Repeat this process twice a day for one week to see results. And you want to try any cream then I would like to recommend you Eyevage, it is dermatologist recommended and there is no side effect of this cream.

Almond oil is a great natural ingredient that is very beneficial for the delicate skin around your eyes. Regular usage of almond oil will help fade your under eye circles. In addition to almond oil, you can use vitamin E oil to eliminate dark circles under the eyes.
Cucumbers have skin-lightening and mild astringent properties that help fix those raccoon eyes naturally. Plus, they have a soothing and refreshing effect.

There is a hereditary aspect of dark circle, you could have hyper-pigmentation. It is treatable with the proper eye care routine. I would recommend using skin brightening products to counteract the hyper-pigmentation. InstaNatural has a Skin Brightening Serum that contains Licorice Extract, Alpha-Arbutin and Niacinamide to fight discoloration and even skin tone.

For quick results one can prefer eye creams. These have to be applied and let it dry for few minutes and to be patted on creamy concealer.

I tried using some of the DIY methods from this blog! Quite good lei =D

Squeeze out the gel in the aloe vera leaf and apply generously on the corners of the eyes where crow’s feet are visible. Apply after your shower and before you go to bed. Wash your face with cold water in the morning. Do this every night for 3 weeks. You will see visible improvement after a few weeks.

Dark circles under the eyes tend to age your appearance more than wrinkles or grey hair.[1] However, you can still reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes and in some cases remove them completely.

Get your beauty sleep.
Get plenty of sleep nightly. It’s not completely clear why inadequate sleep results in dark circles under the eyes, but lack of sleep tends to cause the skin to become paler (thus increasing the appearance of darkness under the eyes), and reduces circulation.[2] It’s also believed that too little time lying down is a cause in itself. Before going to bed at night, remove all eye makeup. If you don't, when you get older, your can look much more tired on a continuing basis.

Treat your allergies. Allergies are a common cause of skin discoloration under the eyes. If an allergy is the root of your problem, treat the allergy or remove the allergen. Seasonal allergy problems such as the hay fever can frequently be effectively treated with over-the-counter and prescription medications.

Fix nasal congestion. A blocked nose can result in dark circles under your eyes because the veins around your sinuses are darkened and dilated. Use a tool like a neti pot or an over-the-counter nasal spray to help you clear out your sinuses.

For DIY - I will use tea bags for about 15mins
I also went for treatment and is able to see the result after 1 session -
My eye area skin is tighten and my eyes looks brighter. I dun need to put so much concealer as dark rings also reduced =D

Apart from the above. I think having a good sleep also helps alot.

I suggest you can try a free solution like:
1. Place warm teabags over your eyes for a few minutes.

2. Soothe your eyes with cold cucumbers.

If it doesn't work, then you have to facial your skin:

3. A temporary and quick fix by using Instantly Ageless that works within 2 minutes.

4. A permanent fix is to use LUMINESCE Cellular Rejuvenation Serum which is developed by dermatologist, it helps to remove eye
bags, dark circles, wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks, heals wound, face lift, whitening and reveal your unique glow. It's Paraben free.
My cousin-in-law currently is using. From his look, nobody is able to guess his age correctly.
Hope this will help :)

Grate half a potato and squeeze out its juice. An even better way to take out the maximum juice is by putting the grated potato in a tea strainer and pressing it with the backside of a spoon, while the juice can be collected in a bowl below the strainer. Apply the juice gently around your eyes with a cotton ball. You can refrigerate the leftover juice and use it in the next 24 hours.

Dark circles are formed due to stress, lack of sleep, hereditary, hormonal changes and so on. Though there are many natural ways to cure dark circles, it takes time and cannot be fully cured. You can go to a good dermatologist and get it corrected with hyaluronic acid fillers (http://www.thecentrefordermatology.com/procedures/facial/fillers/dark-under-eye-circle-correction/). It lasts for 18 months.
