excessive sweating while sleeping

a relative of mine sweats excessively in the night ie when he goes to sleep. his body becomes hot and he starts sweating excessively from head to toe. what could be the problem? should i consult a doctor?

yea sure you should consult the doctor esp.Endocrinologist most sweating problems might be due to endocrine disorder,like say diabetes and thyroids disorders..Othr cause might be consumption of alcohol, coffee or spicy food, before bedtime.

its better to know if there are any other associated symptoms,some other serious medical conditions like Lymphoma,Tuberculosis or kidney diseases also causes night sweats.So its better to see a doctor and treat accordingly.

i suspect kidney disease,visit your doctor immediately.

this might be a kidney problem or some other chronic disease like TB
