My grand mother had melanoma so its possible i can get melanoma too.please can you list some factors that might be associated with increase risk on melanoma..
yea family history of melanoma might just accounts for about 2-8% risk of getting melanoma.
some factors that are associated with increase risk of melanoma might be:
Changing or persisting change in mole for more than 15 yrs -Very high risk
One or several irregularly pigmented lesion
Atypical moles or or famalial melanoma
Atypical moles but not famalial history
Lentigo maligna
Congenital moles
White race(white skin)
Previous melanoma
Melanoma in parents,children or siblings
Immunosupression like leukemia,lymphoma,renal transplantation
Sun sensitivitymtans poorly,burn easily had multiple or severe burns

To continue:
non-regular exposure of skin to intense sun (this is probably why melanoma often occurs on the trunk)
fair skin
blistering sunburn anytime in life, especially as a child
Avoiding sunburns is by far the most important prevention of melanoma.
