I am 51 years old and has been experiencing hair loss for some time now. I am also in the Menopauss stage and was wondering if this has anything to do with my hair loss.

Hi Estelle! yup estrogen hormones helps to hold the hair in growing phase (anagen) for longer period of time which is about 2 to 7 years. With menupause as the level of estrogen hormones drops more hair follicle enters to resting phase (catagen) of hair cycle which lasts for about 2 to 4 weeks. The hair than enters talogen phase and starts shedding. Thus if the symptom are more prominent you may want to undergo hormone replacement therapy.

Exercise is very important to keep your hormonal balance. Take multivitamin daily also.
