The eye condition Astigmatism is an error of refraction caused by a misshaped cornea. These eye exercises will improve your eyesight by retraining the brain to see an image with more contrast and potentially change the shape of the cornea.
Astigmatism Eye Exercises Step-By-Step

Eye Exercise 1 – Reading:
1) Remove any corrective lenses i.e glasses and contact lenses.
2) Whilst reading a paragraph on a page of text or an eye chart, flash an object directly in front of your eyes for a split second. The object you flash can be a page with letters just like the Large and Small Print or a deck of cards. For example, you could be reading an the 10 Foot Eye Chart, “E, N, D . . .” and then glance to recognize the Queen of Spades as you flash this card in front of your eyes.
3) Quickly look back at the text and continue to read.
4) Repeat this sequence for 5 minutes unless your eyes feel fatigued.
5) Palm for 5 deep breaths.
6) If your eyes feel strong enough continue the eye exercise after the palming.

Eye Exercise 2 – Horizontal Obstruction:
1) Remove any corrective lenses i.e glasses and contact lenses.
2) Place the large piece of paper horizontally between the eyes, as though you were performing the Peripheral Vision Eye Exercise.
3) Looking forward flash your fingers to either side of the head.
4) Without turning the head try to look directly at either one of the fingers, acknowledge how many fingers you are holding up and then look forward again.
5) Repeat this sequence for 5 minutes unless your eyes feel fatigued.
6) Palm for 5 deep breaths
7) If your eyes feel strong enough continue the eye exercise after the palming.

1. Start without any corrective lenses (be sure you are in a safe, seated position if need be!).
2. Start by reading some text in a book (or an eye chart if you happen to have one). Next, avert your gaze to a different object (like a book or playing card).
3. Switch back to the text you were reading and resume reading.
4. Again, switch to the other object and focus for a moment before switching back to the text.
5. Continue this on and off focusing/switching for a few minutes or until your eyes are tired.
