My friend is suffering from Shingles or Herpes Zoster can anybody tell me about the main reason of its cause.

Hi Clinton! Everyone once in a life time is infected by varicella zoster virus commonly known as chickenpox. These virus after the infection is over, hides in the nerve root of human, as we develop immunity against the virus. But once our immunity decreases these virus emerges out of nerve root along the nerves to skin which appears as herpes zoster vesicles. Thus chickenpox and herpes zoster are caused by same virus.
