What is this and how can i get rid of it.

On my right hand i have dry skin which occasionally cracks and very occasionally gets little red bumps that itch quite a bit.
The dry skin doesn't hurt, it only effects my left hand- upon which i wear no jewelery, use for anything more than my right and have no known allergies to anything.
I've had the dry skin as long as i can remember but it seems to get worse and better in the space of a couple of hours sometimes going for a few days then flairing up and going down again as quickly?

the only other thing of note is my ring finger nail on the same hand where the nail has gone funny. I've posted about this in the correct forum but thought it may play a part so ill leave a picture of the nail here also.

Hi John, It looks like you are experiencing a contact dermatitis condition. There are 2 types of Contact Dermatitis which shows nearly same symptoms.
