Just came across a mobile (smartphone, tablet) app for Android, called SpotMole, that claims it may analyse moles for signs of skin cancer, by taking a snapshot or loading an image of a mole. Then algorithms that mimick the visual dermatological assessment of the assymmetry, border, color, size and evolution of the mole, output an overall result (the mole seems Ok, or seems dangerous). There is a full version of the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotmoleplus and a free limited version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotmole. Clearly, this is no substitute for professional dermatologic analysis, but I guess it could help with your periodic self assessment of skin moles!
