Can Nevi grow?

Hi,

I have what my doctor believes to be a mole or nevi. It is flesh toned and isn't too much different from the color of my skin, unlike the common dark moles or nevi. I was wondering if these can grow or keep growing like a disease? Thanks!

They may just be benign (harmless) intradermal Naevus. They usually grow very slowly to certain size (few mm) and the growth stops. They usually start disappearing after 40. If there is rapid growth or change in color and shape then it is important to exclude basal cell carcinoma. Malignant transformation is very rare.

Well, the thing is...my nevus (or mole) appeared less than a year ago and I'm almost 40. I've heard that they usually appear at an earlier age, so I was concerned.
