The sting of chapped lips. The itch of moisture-stripped dermis. Really painful during winter. So, do you have any good tips to counteract the skin dryness typically caused by cold weather? What is your simple skin-saving tips?

Lots of lip balm during winter is key. I lived in North America for some time before and was really shocked to find myself using up tubes of lip balm in just one month! I never had to use any here in the Philippines because our climate's quite warm. But after relocating for a while, applying lip balm every hour was not only a necessity but a skin-saving habit I had developed. For dry skin, petroleum jelly at night is a good yet cheap solution. It's really sticky and thick so it's best to put on gloves or socks over jellied hands and feet.

Yes, lip balm is essential to seal in moisture and protect against wind, cold, and chapping but it should contain sunscreen and petrolatum, dimethicone, or simethicone.
