Hair fall is a common problem with all ages. Instead of running to a dermatologist for hair fall treatment, here are some tips you may try at home.
Massaging the scalp with coconut oil/almond oil for 10-15 minutes every day stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair
Apply henna paste with egg yolk to hair and scalp and leave for half hour and rinse
Apply a mixture of Aloe Vera with Triphala to hair to ensure growth of new hair
Drink carrot juice with capsicum; this is a good remedy for gray hair and hair loss
Daily application of coconut oil with lemon juice to hair is also beneficial
Take balanced diet and avoid stress
Wash hair twice a week
Apply a mixture of curd and gram flour to hair an hour before bathing
For restoring the alkaline balance of scalp and to prevent hair fall, wash the hair with apple cider vinegar
Boil coconut oil with the juice of curry leaves, hibiscus flower and gooseberry.
Apply to hair for few minutes and then rinse to control hair thinning
Using soap nut powder for hair wash reduces hair fall

While it's true that some women experience hair loss due to fluctuating hormones (and if you see other things present such as acne in the t-zone in your 30's) get tested for higher than normal testosterone. Especially if you're seeing an abundance of hair in unwanted places. :p

But for many women, it is just plain old over-processing and over styling and even too frequent shampooing and with harsh chemicals.

If you have hair fall I'd first recommend a good hair vitamin supplement, I'd try and use a dry shampoo at least every other day, also try and wear your hair up half the week rather than styling every day, use a wide tooth comb rather than a brush and look at what chemicals you're putting into your hair.

I'm a chemistry prof and I read everything. You can get more tips on my blog (no sales, just for fun :)

OH! And if you're really wanting to try something new, mix some latisse with some rogaine for women. It's like miracle grow for hair and it widens the follicle so hair grows crazy time!

1. Protein Grows Hair
Because the hair is made of protein, a protein deficiency can cause hair loss. Add protein to the diet by including animal products, such as meat and dairy, or protein shakes made from whey.

2. Vitamin C is Needed for Healthy Hair
Vitamin C is also a component of healthy hair. Citrus fruits, such as oranges and lemons, are especially high in vitamin C, as are green peppers. Suggested dosage is 1,000 to 3,000 mg a day.

3. B Vitamins Increase Hair Growth
Biotin and the complex B vitamins are needed to grow hair. B3 helps increase circulation to the scalp, thereby encouraging hair growth. It is best to take a supplement that includes all of the B vitamins, called a B complex supplement, as the nutrients work synergistically.

4. Iron Reduces Hair Loss
The mineral iron helps increase circulation in the scalp as well, which then fuels hair growth. Foods that are high in iron include liver, apricots and raisins.

5. Drink Water to Grow Hair
The hair shaft is comprised of one quarter water. Drink at least 4 to 8 cups of water a day to stay hydrated and grow healthy hair.

6. Reduce Alcoholic Beverages to Reduce Hair Loss
Drinking alcohol reduces hair growth. Reduce or eliminate alcohol from the diet and you will see an increase in hair growth.

7. Hormones Influence Hair Growth
Hormones influence the production of hair. Hormones decrease with age and slow hair growth. Increasing hormones can increase hair growth. Adding bio-identical hormones for women is a possibility, but accurate blood tests are needed to identify and balance the various hormonal components in the body. Natural foods contain some hormones as well, for instance, wild yam is a natural source of estrogen.

8. Vitamin E Grows Hair
Vitamin E is another nutrient needed to grow hair. It stimulates the circulation in the scalp and can be taken internally or applied to the scalp.

9. Smoking Causes Hair Loss
Smoking cigarettes reduces the blood flow to the scalp and this causes a reduction in hair growth. Stop smoking to help hair grow.

10. Vitamin A Feeds Healthy Hair
Vitamin A helps create vibrant shiny hair because it works with the fat synthesis in the hair follicles and spurs hair growth. Foods that contain vitamin A include eggs, kale, squash, and carrots.

One of the keys to having a healthy and shiny head of hair is to find ways to prevent hair loss. It's normal to lose some hair, but if you want to ensure that your hair stays thick and healthy-looking, you'll need to protect your hair and scalp against factors that could cause your hair to fall out and become thin. Luckily, there are a few easy ways to prevent hair from falling out and to keep your hair and scalp healthy.

A healthy diet

This is one of the easiest ways to prevent your hair from falling out excessively. Making sure that your diet contains all the vitamins and nutrients you need will help your body function properly. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables can help increase your vitamin intake, and once these nutrients get delivered to the scalp, they help keep the scalp and hair healthy.

Massage Your Scalp

This is a great way to encourage blood circulation, and if you massage your scalp regularly, you're encouraging the delivery of essential nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles. You can use oils such as gingko biloba, olive oil, or jojoba oil if you want to increase the blood circulation while providing intensive moisturization to your scalp.

Use Essential Oils to Fight Infection and Scalp Diseases

Essential oils can be added to the shampoo you use or as part of a massage oil to help fight infections of the scalp. Hair loss can be caused by infections, and this is probably one of the best and easiest ways to treat your scalp without the use of potentially harmful chemicals. Tea tree oil and lavender oil are particularly good for the scalp because of the their antimicrobial qualities.

Following a few easy steps such as the ones listed above can not only help prevent hair loss but may also leave your hair looking healthier for longer. There are so many natural remedies for the hair and scalp that you may wonder where to start, but the tips above should give you a great start to a thicker and healthier head of hair.
