Hello I'm married and have a child and am a war veteran, thats my short intro. I'm here for my wife.

My wife bought a scrub product from a BIG STORE the other day and used it that night. The next morning she said her face hurt as she got up, when she went to the mirror she had broke out in these tiny little gren tinted pimples that were around her nose and under her eyes! Gross I know, but she started to cry and was trying to pop them in a panic. I told her to leave them alone and I would make an appt with the derm doc. I felt so bad for her:(, so I told her she looked beuatiful and it did'nt matter, she still has to go to work that day, that sucked.

Anyway, has anyone ever had a reaction to a product like this before, or just a case like this at all? I'll let y'all know what the doc sais Monday....Thanks!

some people have all kinds of reactions to certain products. usually the rash or pimples are red. it is smart that you are taking her to a doctor. that is the best person to help.

Sounds like more of an allergic reaction. In the future she should patch test all new products on her hand or arm.

So our derm doc tested her skin and came to the conclusion that It's the harsh chemicals in most products that makes her skin break out. She said to look for more natural or organic products, so we went to look for some and their so expensive! Some up to 45.00 for a 12 oz body scrub......we have decided to start making some homemade scrubs with the same stuff those pricey ones have. Thanks for the help guys! I'll let ya know if she takes to this method better....

Just what you are looking for here [url under review] I use there toner and face mask and love them. I hope they bring out more of a product range.

If you look around this site you will find some good recipes for homemade scrubs, cleansers, moisturisers etc. At least with homemade products you can test easier if a product irritates the skin.

Ben, the homemade scrubs, etc. can also be harsh because you use pumpkin, sugar, salt, etc. Always do a test on any product you use, organic or not, as you can have a reaction to anything.

That's kind of what I meant but you worded it better. Thanks.

:h2:Thank you so much guys, my wife is all cleared up now and we looked up some ingredients to use. She sais she may want to make a body butter too, but the scrubs are a simple start. My cousin is a derm doc in Spain, got a hold of her and she recomended some good thin yet moisterizing oils to use. Good point on the granule size, my wife is opting for smaller grains, we are still testing exfoliants for her face though.....I have eczema and am pretty sensitive too, so we need to make sure the ingredients are quality so this won't happen again.

Thanks, any good scent ideas? We tried lavender oil, its a little to floral. What are good scents when it comes to body scrubs and creams? She loves coconut lime and I love VANILLA......
