Hi folks, just discovered this site today and wondered if anyone could help me out with my symptoms.

I am female aged 48.
Started approx 8 months ago in November (winter in UK) with itchy prickly-type heat rash on chest bone, and on lower right front of leg.
Then started itching all over (no rash) so went to doc. He gave me antihistamines (lera something), which took the chest rash and the whole body itchieness away, only itch/rash was left in the lower leg (which I could live with).
Stopped taking the antihistamines after a few months and within a month or so itchiness had spread to other lower front of leg and hips, stayed like this for a few months.
However now all of a sudden the itchiness has spread to arms, back and now moving up over knees.
Had blood tests done, but nothing unusual came up, just immune slightly low but nothing to worry about.
Doc has given me other antihistamines 180g - sorry not sure of the name, but they're not really working either. Last time I went, he said that if this didn't work he would treat me for scabies, without even testing if this was what I had (on looking on internet, it doesn't seem like it), I've tried homeopathy, manuka cream and some pills, but nothing seems to work - anyone any ideas ??????

Sorry I can't personally help with your problem, but I'm in the UK so I know the way our system works. I would insist that he refer you to a dermatologist. Most surgeries now are twinned with others in the area so this will hopefully just mean seeing a local doctor with expertise in that area, failing that it will need to be a hospital. I think he done right giving you antihistamines but I personally don't agree with being given medication for a condition you may not have.
Tips I would suggest in the mean time is checking things that come into contact with the skin. Washing powder, soaps, etc. Also have you been eating or drinking anything new?
Hopefully someone here can give you better advice but failing that I would insist on a referral.
Sorry I cannot be of more help.
