I seriously want to know what is going on in the minds of people. I mean no insult what so ever. I have suffered from severe acne, I am currently trying to remedy some elftover scarring.
Yes, I have used chemical based remedies with I have no idea what active ingredients. And they hurt, every single time. So I am not finger pointing. But at what point did you decide that this is the route to fixing the problems of skin ailments? Lasers? Mirco sandpaper? Injections? Acidic peels? And seriously, does anyone know the long term damage?
Anyone ever think that maybe finding something to bolster the natural immune system might be the answer? How did this Wal-Mart version of a cure ever become the standard?

well said. i do have one difference of opinion from your soapbox and that is the acid peals. they do no harm to the skin and have been used forever. drastic stuff like lazers and botox etc are scary. you have to weigh the problems individually. if you have a horrendous scar on your face and it depresses you to where you no longer want to be seen, i say some kind of plastic surgery is necessary. as more kinds of treatments come to be people just want to feel better about themselves. they try anything that will possibly work. and i agree sometimes people go overboard.

It's all about the money, industries are made on the remedies you've listed and so many others. And as you say what goes on in the minds of some people? It's not the health and well being of others unfortunately. I recently wached the Burzynski movie about cancer treatment, it shows how bad things are in terms of what goes on in the minds of some people.
I wish you the best with your scarring treatment.

Nomad, there are natural remedies for a lot of minor ailments that affect us. A lot of people are now moving towards those natural remedies. We still have to be careful though. If you go to a doctor and they ask you what medications you are taking they are now asking what natural herbs and remedies you are taking as well.
For example, if you have an auto-immune condition you do not want to take ANYTHING to boost your immune system. You actually want to suppress your immune system so it stops attacking you.
So you have to consider natural remedies and their side effects like any medicine you take as they can be harmful to you as well.

I think the push towards more natural alternatives is getting bigger. I currently only use natural products on my skin and have found it solves most of my problems.

there's a lot of remedies out there before you result into using chemical based compounds that may permanently damage your skin.
Have you tried anything organic at first? How about diet?
