Go for some hot oil treatments, this will help you to get rid of static hair charge. and, yea as sandy said use some hydrating shampoo and conditioner, on a regular basis.

i have problems with static too. i used to use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner but now i have to use medicated shampoos. my hair looks healthy but it is full of static. a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner does work. also a moisturizer helps in your home. i heat a beaker of water in my lab!!!. i am fine when i do that but if i need my hot plates for my formulas i can't.

I use a good shampoo and conditioner and after my hair dries (naturally with just a minute or two using the straightener) I apply a tiny amount of serum to the ends and this has resolved my problem.
