Hey guys,
I have a 6 year old quarter sized scar on my upper fore arm from falling off a bicycle.

During the past years I have tried all sorts of treatment. Vitamin E, many over the counter scar creams, and finally Rx EpiQuin Micro with Retin-A. The scar has gradually lightened over the years (probably just naturally) but is still noticeable.

The "scar" is actually a piece of skin that is lacking a top layer of skin. I guess it never grew back? In result, it appears red as the skin is thinner there, revealing the blood underneath. (When I pinch the skin "up" it is no longer red.)

It leads me to think I need to "re-grow" my skin in this area.

My question, is that possible?
Has anyone had a similar situation?
Any products or methods that were helpful?

"Amoils Scar Healer" seems to come up frequently, has anyone tried it?

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

I have never heard of Amoils Scar Healer. You can use the products containing Silicone gel, Onion extract gel. These might help in collagen remodeling. But if you want better results you can go for percutaneous collagen induction (http://www.dermatalk.com/blogs/skin-disorders/acne/percutaneous-collagen-induction-for-acne-scars/) or laser resurfacing (http://www.dermatalk.com/blogs/skin-disorders/acne/laser-treatment-for-acne-scars/).

An abrasion is a superficial damage to the upper layer of the skin, the epidermis. It may cause slight bleeding. In general, abrasions do not leave a scar but deep abrasions could cause tissue scarring. Usually, abrasion injuries happen as a result of skin coming in contact (as in scraping) with a rough surface. Click for more details http://******************
