I'm 26 weeks pregnant and i have genital Warts. I'm very worried that this may pass to my baby or affect my birth. They are more aggressive then before. I went to doctor and he said they can't be treated until delivery and also scared me, they might increase in size and get bigger then i expect. I'm really scared. please help.

just listen to your doctor. he wants you and your baby to be healthy. using something before the baby is born could hurt your baby. my daughter found out she had cervical cancer when she found out she was pregnant. they kept a watch on it but didn't do anything until her baby was born. everyone was fine. don't worry so much that you make yourself sick that is bad for both of you also.

Yup they often get worse in pregnancy as your immune system is suppressed in pregnancy. You can get a second opinion from another doctor if you like. Some doctors recommends treating it during pregnancy, while others suggest to wait till delivery as in many cases they go away after child birth.

You do hear many things about the complications of HPV infection during pregnancy. But don't worry. There are no any documented research claiming HPV infection related complications during pregnancy. Well there might be some complication you might have heard from friends and net.. these might be due to HPV infection with additional other disease or conditions. The risk of transmission from mother to child is very low. Just make sure you do a regular follow-up with your doctor and let him know any changes in your condition.

Do ask if you have any other questions in your mind.

Thank you. I'll try to get other opinion from another doctor. So can i have a normal delivery or i have to undergo surgery for child birth. I heard cesarean section reduces the risk of transmission to baby. Is it true ? Also can i get HPV vaccine now to prevent transmission.

Thank you. waiting for your reply.

as far as the vaccine i am not so sure. they don't recommend vaccines of any kind during pregnancy. i would get the shot after delivery. you really should ask your obgyn. these are questions for a specialist not here. it is important. make a list and next time you see your doctor ask him the questions you have. that is what i did.

Must be really hard for you to handle this. But yeah, don't stress yourself too much. it can be treated, and nothing will happen to your baby. It will be fine.
