I don't think its a good idea to treat Genital warts on your own. These over the counter medications won't work for genital warts and can even cause severe complications. Genital warts should always be treated with a doctor consultation. If you are not comfortable with the surgical approach like Freezing, lasers - you can apply creams with a doctor consultation at home or the clinics. These creams include Imiquimod and Podophyllin gels or sometimes Interferon injections.

Yea it doesn't guarantee complete clearance, but in some people it does clear, but still possibility of transmission may still exist. Remember, if untreated warts may stay the same or even grow larger in size and more in number.

First of all, you guess its genital warts, you are not confirmed. So first approach is to consult a doctor or a free clinics for testing human papilloma virus (HPV) then after think about the medications. I don't think its nice to apply medications without knowing its a genital warts. There are many disease like Vulvar neurofibromatosis, various neoplasia that might resemble Genital Warts.

So what you think ?

I think consulting a doctor is a good option. Genital warts is one of the most dreaded sexually transmitted diseases in the world. A large number of people suffer from the human papilloma virus also know as warts virus.

I suggest you go see a doctor first. And if you can, please post an update here. What happened now? What treatment did you use?

If you prefer herbal medicine, then apple cider vinegar is the best for you. But if you prefer topical treatments, then Wartscide is the right brand for you to use. Based on my sister's own experience, it can make warts fall off form your skin in less than a week!

well Julia, if your friend had genital warts and she thinks she is cured she is in denial. what about the warts that are inside or the ones that cannot be seen except by a doctor. must be nice to take a std so nonchalantly. see a doctor.

you can get rid of genital warts but even though they're gone, the virus is still there and therefore you cannot say that you're completely cured. there's still a possibility of outbreaks. i've heard about that oxyfend in many forums already. i think people should be more accurate with the results.

I know someone that has had them for almost 10 years now. And I know he has had cryo treatments ( freezing) acid, Aldera, you name it. There is no guarantee that they will ever go away. He has told me that smoking or when ever his immune system starts to fight something like the flu he gets an outbreak. Everyone is different though.

Treatment of genital warts should be guided by the preference of the patient, available resources, and the experience of the health-care provider. No definitive evidence suggests that any of the available treatments are superior to any other, and no single treatment is ideal for all patients or all warts.
