Hello everyone,
About a week ago a scab fell off my chest; the scab was about the size of a penny.
The skin was very pink where the scab fell off “which is normal” so I started to put vitamin E as well as a product called scarzone on it.
Last night I went and played soccer with some friends and when I got back home I noticed that there was some fluid under the pink skin; kind of like a blood blister or something. What should I do, should I drain the fluid by making a pinprick in the skin? I really don’t want to get a scar but I know I probably will.. so at this point I’m just trying to let it heal properly so the skin doesn’t get really damaged.
So, what should I do??
I've attached two photos of what it looks like... Thanks

SO it is due to the rupture of blood vessels around the scab. The first management would be applying ice pack several times a day, doing this the vessels will get constricted and no chances of further bleeding and collection of blood. Pinprick will let the collected blood out but will have further room for blood to occupy the space. Pinprick might lead to further infection if not done in septic environment. So just avoid pricking my yourself.try it with icepack .
So finally what i would suggest is to apply heat pad for 10-15 mins so it will absorb the collected fluids and followed by ice pack to constrict the vessels so there won't be any bleeding. If you have severe pain with pus and hot around the area i would suggest to visit a doctor but further infection management.

yup sure ..but make sure its not infected if there is pus or the color changes to yellow with hot sensation in the area with fever and pain.. you must go for a drainage of the pus.Now it doesn't look like its infected so just apply heat and cold as suggested and see if it works.

Alright, so here's exactly what I did,
I took a compress and placed it on the area for about 5 minutes. After that I used a pin and poked a small hole in it.. That is after I sterilized the pin.
I applied light pressure on it using toilet paper and clear liquid came out.. no blood.. After a few minutes I wrapped a icepack in tp and I placed it on area for about 20 minutes.. Clear liquid still comes out if I put plenty of pressure on it but I think everything will be well.
I'll fill you later tonight. What happens if it were to fill up with liquid again? Should I do the same procedure?
Thanks for the help thus far. Much appreciated.

o.k so you have poked with the pin.. ummm.. you can apply antiseptic and inti-infective ointments like betadine or sisomicin sulphate creams so it won't get infected. make sure it won't get infected. Don't poke frequently u might get a scar.

Everything is going very well now. The top layer of skin that had the fluid under it is starting to fall off. Either then that though everything looks good. the pinkness is starting to fade and for the time being I keep applying Vitamin E and Scarzone.
I used to have a small mole there, so I purchased a product called "Bio-T" to remove it… The process took about a month and it left that large mark. The mole was maybe the size of a pencil eraser but for some reason it attacked allot more skin.
You've been very helpfull and I want to thank you. It's nice when people take the time to help other.
Do you think applying vitamin E and scarzone will minimize scaring or should I try another route?

i personally would not use Vit-E or scar zone rather i would go for topical antibiotics and protect further inflammation or infection. I would let the wound heal by its own process, intrrupting normal healing process might further result in scar. I won't suggest Vit-E or scar zone for atleast 15 days, they might help to reduce the visibility of already formed scar but don't prevent scar formation......
Well i'm not a cosmetic expert so consulting further to an expert cosmetic surgeon might help. All i can suggest is let it heal by its own process..just make sure to avoid further infection..after 2-3 weeks when wound heals leaving a fresh scar tissue... gently massage with vit-E or scarzone. ur scar will fade away by itself..There is no medicine that can prevent scar formation as far i know..

Sounds good. I will fallow you suggestion. I will start reapplying Vitamin e and scarzone in two weeks time. It's faded pretty well thus far.. It's still pink but it's not looking red like it was. I will post some pictures up here in two weeks time to show the progress.
Honestly, you've helped me out so much. Thanks a million :)

Hello,
I'm just giving you guys a quick update on my progress...

Those are the latest photos I have taken. I've been putting vitamin E on the damaged area every at night and putting scarzone on in the mornings.
I'm really not happy with the results so far .. I was really hopping that it would have faded allot more then it has.
Every time I go in the sun I put a band-aid over the area to protect it.
What are my options here to minimize the appearance of the wound? I'm going to exfoliate the area tonight with some special sand formula to try and take away some of the dead scar tissue.
Also, are there any procedures to fully remove the scar? Maybe, laser scar removal?
Talk to you later.

chest is the area where scar are more likely to be formed due to tension stretched chest.
Some of the non surgical methods tried are compression bandages so the scar doesn't increase in size. The best and widely used method is Silicone gel and studies have suggested 80-100% improvement in scar. It should be atleast applied for 12 hrs a day, either during night or day. Early use of triamcinolone a steroid has also suggested to heal the scar. Your scar though looks good and will fade away in time and there is no quick healing of scar, it might take months or years for scar to fade. Just wait and see.. If you are really worried then you can get a suggestion from cosmetic expert about it.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I've bought a product called Madema that seems to be working well. I've been using it for about a week now and I've already seen some improvements. I'm supposed to use it for 8 weeks so I'm expecting some good results. I will post new pictures in a month or two.

Whatever you do, DO NOT apply vitamin e. Lots of people including me have allergies from it. You can find good articles if you google vitamin e and dermatitis. Vitamin c and silicone is the best scar treatment. I have been using one for my more removal that works.
Their website also has a lot of scientific information too and talks about vitamin e and other unsafe ingredients.

Hello,
I thought I would post an update since it’s been a few months since you guys have heard from me.
Originally I was applying Maderma to my scar. I did that 4 times a day for 2 months and saw little to no results. I looked around on the Internet and came across a forum speaking about the wonders of coca butter. So I bought a large bottle of it and have been applying it to my scar ever since. I can’t say that I have seen any really noticiple improves either then the fact that the scar is much softer now.
Anyway, here are the photos.

The outer part of the scar is a very light pink while the inner part of the scar is still red. I’m 100 percent not happy with the progress and I’m really bad at my self for ever attempting to remove a “mole” off my chest with a cream bought of the internet.
In any case, what do you guys recommend I do? I will do anything to get rid of this scar... well, within reason anyway :)
Please tell me there is something that can be done to reduce it or make it vanish.
Thanks

Hi,
So I went an saw a plastic surgeon to try and get a scar revision done and they told me that they can't do it. They said that it is possible, how-ever you would have a three inch scar line on my chest rather then what is there now. The doctor recommended I don't go ahead with the procedure. He also mentioned that the product I used removed my mole by giving me a second or third degree burn and what is left on my chest is because of that.
Does anyone have an suggestions here? I know i'm going to have to live with this scar for ever now but I'd like to try and make it as less visible as possible. What would be the benefits to doing a skin peal? Are there any products that reduce the look of a scar or burn?
Hopefully someone will get back to me since no one responded to my last post.

According to a Research paper published on Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, The best selling scar removal products on drugstore were:
Top five products, you can try these products and see if it works. Remember there is no any quick scar removal products and there are no products that completely remove your scar, they just fade away to make it almost invisible.
1.Mederma Skin Care for Scars
2.Neosporin Scar Solution silicone scar sheets
3.Scarguard Scarcare
4.Curad Scar Therapy
5.Vita-K Solution for Scars and Bruises

Hello Deepak,
Thank you for your reply. I have already tried maderma and didn't see any noticeable results.
I am thinking of buying some silicone sheets the internet.
URL: http://www.454.me/4iWMDF
To help with the silicone sheets I was thinking of buying a Derma roller / Micro Needle Roller. I think if could help the healing properties of the silicone by allow it to penetrate my skin. What do you think Deepak?

Oh well personally what i would do is. Its just a scar and it won't kill me, Why worry. I would apply any scar removal like u previously applied Maderma or Silicone Scar Sheets for atleast 5-6 months regularly and wait for result, There are no any magical scar removal products that can just remove your scar completely with in 2-3 months. Well Silicone sheets with dermaroller might work as well. But don't expect the results early as it takes time. Be patience, be positive, it wont kill you, hahaha. You seems to be very worried. Well i'll forward your issue with my Dermatology professors and other senior dermatologists. Lets see what are their views on this.
Thankx

Sorry for the delayed reponse.
I'm not really that self conscious of the scar how-ever at the same time I would like to make it go away as much as possible. Originally I tried to get rid of a small mark which was nothing in comparison to this scar.
Anyway, did you end up speaking with your professor? It's nice to know that I am speaking to somewhat of an expert in regards to skin care. Makes me feel at eaz.

Hey Deepak,
I came across this product recently and was wondering what your thoughts on it were?
URL : http://www.amoils.com/scars.html
The products claims to speed up new cell growth. I'm going to buy a product by the end of this week. If I don't buy that then I will be purchasing scar treatment silicone sheets.

What are your thoughts?
