Healthy skin means you have to treat your skin like you do every other part of your body – with care.  A carefully planned regimen goes a long way to keeping your skin full of moisture, shine, and gloss.  Just like world class athletes watch their bodies very carefully, if you are into your skin, you must be 100% sure that everything you do to it, and surround it with, is healthy for you.

For example, did you know that drinking 2 liters each day of water is a great way to keep healthy, shiny skin?  Just like water drives your bodies engine, it also keeps your skin healthy and glowing, not to mention it also helps fight cellulite.   Drink plenty of water to make sure y0u are taking extra special care of your skin – you can thank me later.  You of course get other benefits, such as benefits to your bodies reaction to other elements, such as the sun, when you drink water.  Drinking water, using sun screen with spf, and using a daily moisturizing cream are three ways you can ensure your skin shines no matter what the season is.

Besides doing those, you also need to balance your stress levels and ensure you are not exposing your skin to deadly and harmful toxins.  This means that you should not smoke cigarettes as well.  Think about all the people you know that smoke, do they have good skin?  Usually they do not.  For starters, the repeated expressions made when one smokes a traditional cigarette causes the skin to wrinkle.  That’s one part of the equation, but the other part is that the awful smoke and deadly toxins given off are harmful to not only your body but also your skin.  Your skin does not react well to smoke, and you should avoid it at all costs.

So, keep good tabs on your diet and what is around your body as we get into 2010.  It’s not bad to make changes slowly, but for your skin’s long term sake, follow these tips to a “t.”  You won’t be disappointment.

Dark Circle Eye Serum is Clinically Tested

As you shop around for an eye cream that aims at getting rid of dark circles, there may be a few that make references to clinical testing.  For starters, it’s important you know what clinical testing actually is.

With so many people looking to cure the various signs of aging, many people turn to specialized anti aging creams.  There are creams for all sorts of different conditions, but there are some creams that are targeted for the eye area. An eye wrinkle cream aims at curing the following:

  • Reduce wrinkle depth around the eyes
  • Add moisture to the skin
  • Promote Collagen renewal
  • Reduce the appearance of crows feet

Of course, there are many advantages of using an eye wrinkle cream, but of course, the obvious reason everyone spends their hard earned money on these products is to look younger.  Looking younger is a constant battle, and it’s never easy.  Of course, there are many anti aging options out there, and with so many cosmetic surgeries proving to be successful, people have many decisions to make as they try to find the proverbial fountain of youth.

Today, we look at eye wrinkle creams as an anti aging solution.  The question I will pose is – do they work?

The short answer, that you probably don’t want to hear, is simple.  It depends!

You can go to your neighborhood corner store and find a cream with a low concentration of ingredients, of course, but that won’t solve any of your aging problems, more than anything it will moisturize your skin and maybe provide one small hint of say hyaluronic acid, a key anti aging ingredient.

The best anti wrinkle creams are formulated with high powered ingredients like Matrixyl 3000. Not the regular version of Matrixyl, but Matrixyl 3000.  This is much more advanced, and you can find all of the research reports online that backs up this statement.

If your eye wrinkle cream does NOT have Matrixyl 3000, you should look for one that does.  Laboratory tests show a significant reduction in wrinkle depth when a wrinkle cream with Matrixyl 3000 is used as directed for a period of time.

Whatever product you end up choosing, stay with the course.  If it says to use it for 30 days, do that to a “T.”  Do not deviate, and be sure you are using the product as directed.  When you try to do your own thing, so to speak, and do something not advised by the manufacturers, you are completely disregarding years of research and development that went into making the product.

The truth is, in eye wrinkle creams, you DO get what you pay for.  Of course, if your product has Matrixyl 3000, you are probably paying a premium (over $75 in most cases), but the alternative is to let wrinkles take over your face and add years to your appearance.

Please be careful when using free trial products, that is the best advice I can give you.  Do your due diligence, and read plenty of eye wrinkle cream reviews.

Resveratrol and Antioxidants Flood Anti Aging Cream Market

Every time I turn around, there is a new anti aging cream using some sort of antioxidant rich ingredient.  Of course, the most popular antioxidants are the ones that are well-covered by the media, such as the famous anti aging superstar, resveratrol.  Resveratrol is best known for helping lab rats live longer and remain stronger in some testing done a few years back.  These same tests were well-covered by media outlets such as Oprah and Dr. Phil.  Of course, resveratrol is no stranger to those of us that follow the health & wellness niche so closely.

So, who started all of this hoopla about the antioxidants and who started using them in anti aging creams at the rate they are being used today?

The first anti aging cream I noticed using antioxidants like resveratrol was the Elite Serum, the flagship product of a company that has taken the cosmeceutical market by storm, Elite Skin.  The Elite Serum uses a trace of resveratrol in its formula along with the acai berry extract to make the scientific formula have an abundance of antioxidants.

It’s important not to overlook the importance of antioxidants in skin care products, especially anti aging products.  People like the famous Dr. Perricone also praise the acai berry in numerous of articles that you can find online.  There is no shortage of information about the scientific elements contained in antioxidants and how they can work to benefit the skin on numerous levels.  You can Google “acai berry” and see all sorts of information from weight loss products to all of a sudden, you guessed it:  acai eye creams.

In all of this hoopla and media praise, there are companies out there trying to sell ANYTHING with resveratrol and acai berry extract in them, and they sort of give a black eye to the people out there who are formulating real, made-to-perform products that are done with care.  I am sure you have received some email spams about the acai berry making outrageous claims, I know I do.  However, don’t let these insane weight loss promises get in the way of you being sold on an amazing product that is really important to our society.

One reason acai extract is so difficult to come by is that you only have 24 hours to harvest it.  The berry can go bad if not harvested properly and in due time.  Upon looking up sources for the acai berry in the USA, I found that the largest importers of acai are located in Miami.  (Probably a coincidence that this is where Elite Skin manufacture their products.)  If you think about it, this makes perfect sense.  The berries are harvested in Brazil, and must be handled with care each step of the way.  A lab in Kansas or even further west does not have a chance to compete with someone with the location near the port of Miami, such as the laboratory of Elite Skin.

There are two things you can do as you shop for skin care products.  You can acknowledge that antioxidants are an important part of the process of having amazing, fresh skin, or you can choose not to believe in science and consider these as hype.  Whatever you choose, you can’t ignore the press that the media is giving to these anti aging superstar ingredients.

Have you ever sought out advice from a professional in the quest to have young-looking, fresh skin?  There are several websites online that offer free skin consultations, but none are better than a site I introduced a few weeks back called Skin Care Opinions.  This website, ran by a woman named Monica, offers skin care product reviews for many of the best anti aging skin care products on the market.  There are in-depth reviews on many products that are for sale both in retail and on the web.  Monica does her best to talk about the product in-depth, and at the end, if she has used the product, she offers her opinion.

It’s a pretty cool concept if you look at it from all angles.  She offers product advice and tips on everything from deep peels, to wrinkle creams, to eye serums.  I read some great anti-wrinkle cream reviews on her site and came to some new discoveries, which is very rare for me as I consider myself a know-it-all!  (he-he.)

Well, the coolest part of this experience is the fact that Monica, who is studying dermatology and works as an understudy to a renowned South Beach skin care expert, offers advice.  That’s right, she offers skin care advice.  If you are looking for an evaluation of your skin, you have found the right website.

Basically, Monica offers an easy to use form, where you can submit a recent photo of your skin.  You can submit skin from any part of your body, and Monica will evaluate it, tell you what she thinks you should do as part of a skin care regimen, and perhaps offer a product suggestion in order to help treat the affected area.

This skin care web 2.0 style site is really cutting edge.  I am very impressed with not only the service, but the layout of the site and the simplicity of the site.  It really is user-friendly and it is like no other site on the web.

So, how did my results go?  Well, I submitted a full facial shot, without any makeup, and had Monica give me a full evaluation.  She told me my skin was well-kept, could tell I am well hydrated, and saw that I am a freak for sunblock.  She did suggest to me a new anti wrinkle cream product that I had never heard of.  I am currently looking into that and as soon as I wait for Monica’s reply, I will post her suggestion here and of course, review it in depth.

This really is a nice website.  Whether you have acne, wrinkles, or other skin issues, you should get a skin care opinion.  It’s 100% free for now, but that may change in the future.

A-B-C And More ..

Your skin is your most valuable asset. Bereft of all make up and accessories, there is just your skin to tell the world how beautiful are you.

Therefore it is essential that you take good care of your skin, nourish it and pamper it…

Here are some basic rules of good skin care, or so to say the A-B-C of skin care.

A: Cleansing!

Morning and night, make sure you cleanse your face. Pour out some cleanser on your palms and massage on to your face in circular motions. Don’t be hard on your skin. Cleansing is a soft and smooth process. Do it the same way.

B: Toning

Cleansing should immediately be followed by application of a good toner. Most often women undermine the importance of toning up their face and move on with their make-up. Actually cleansing opens up the skin pores to remove all dirt and bacteria and remove open till a toner is applied.

C: Moisturizing

That’s as much for the basics. But in the changing world today… you need to take care of your skin as it survives through pollution, heat and dust, weather changes and all.

Exfoliate

The cleansing-toning-moisturizing is a gentle one and removes inlay dirt particles. But for harder stuff like blackheads, you need to scrub your skin at least once a week so as to scrape off all the debris.

Sunscreen

Contrary to popular belief, a sunscreen isn’t something to be used if and when you go out in the sun. In fact, the UVA/B radiations of the sunlight are active all day long and traverse all through. Thus, it is necessary that you apply sunscreen about 30 minutes before you go outdoors and reapply every 2 to 3 hours!

4th of July Skin Care Tips

You WILL most likely be outdoors on the 4th of July.  It’s an American tradition.  For those of you located outside of the USA, the 4th of July is the Independance Day in the United States of America.  It’s the day everyone gathers with family and friends and celebrates the nation’s day of Independance.  Many outdoor gatherings take place.  From bar-b-ques to picnics, to lawn darts to volleyball, people get together and have a great time outdoors.  Here are some skin care tips you can follow for this day of Independance.

Use plenty of sunblock.  Wear your Panama Jack sunblock if you still have some of that lying around.  Remember when that was the most popular sunblock on the planet?  Whatever happened to it?  Anyways, that’s not important right now.  What is important is that you cover your face with sunblock, your body with sunblock, and your neck and chest with sunblock.  The sun causes wrinkles, and wrinkles are something you can NEVER reverse in life.  A wrinkle, much like they say about diamonds, is forever.  If you expose yourself to the sun, odds are you will wrinkle earlier than someone who does not expose theirselves to the sun as often.  If you do one thing this fourth of July, cover your body head to toe with sunblock.  You can thank me years later.

Another way you can prevent wrinkles is to cover your face and eyes from the sun.  This can be done by using a hat and sunglasses.  These not only can be a stylish part of your wardrobe, but they can also be a part of your skin care routine.  Think about it this way:  When you squint, you help wrinkles establish themselves on your skin.  When wrinkles establish themselves on your skin, they do NOT just jump out and go away.  They are there forever, whether you like it or not.  Of course, you can reduce their appearance with a wrinkle cream, but that is simply a cover up, and over time, the cost of wrinkle creams will hit your pocket book.  So, keep in mind these things.  Remember that a hat and sunglasses combination will keep you from squinting, and in turn, prevent wrinkles from forming because you will not be making those constant, habitual expressions.

Since you will most likely be basking in the sun the majority of the 4th of July Holiday, chances are you will be drinking a few cold beers if you are over the age of 21.  This means you will not only have the chance of being intoxicated, but you could also become dehydrated.  This is something you want to avoid at all costs.  This in mind, you need to hydrate your body with as much water as possible. If you can, drink a glass of water between every two cocktails.  Yes, you may find yourself using the restroom quite a bit, but this is much better than the alternatives.
