According to this website, it is rare, but you can get it again.

I thought you couldn't! I had heard of a kid, when I was a kid, that got it seven times!

Yes It's Possible :D

My father, who worked in a hospital as a occupational nurse, contracted it even though he had it once before as a child.

It's a rare thing to happen but it is possible.

It also depends on what form you have as a child. There is a rarer form that only strikes those under 2 years old where the postules grow and burst in a matter of hours, leaving dime-sized spots with no skin. This happened to my daughter and the doctors said that she may get the chicken pox again as that form didn't leave an immunity. Luckily, at least so far, she has never contracted it again.

it is possible, but some times rare. If you have had it as a kid, you dont have to be too careful

I think it is possible because my cousin sister suffered from chicken pox when she was around 10 years old and she got chicken pox again when she was 13 years old. So, I think some people may get twice. It depends on the nature of your body.

Chickenpox does not reoccur in most of us as there are antibodies produced against the foreign body i.e the virus Varicella zooster , but some times some individuals have the antibodies produced but at the time of infection on the second time, have compromised immunity which leads to the attack of the virus in spite of the antibodies produced which are not sufficient to protect the body against the attack.
I can say this as i am a medical student, so i think that there are rare chances of getting the disease the second time.
But the most common late complication of chicken pox is shingles, caused by reactivation of the varicella zoster virus decades after the initial episode of chickenpox.

I do not think you can be sick of it again .. At least according to what I know. Your body immunization against the disease and that is it. Besides, I think that only small children can be sick of it.

Well, I hate to go against the tide of medical opinion here but there's always the exceptions to the rule LOL. I can tell you from personal experience that I had chickenpox three times as a child and twice in my twenties. Not once did I get shingles, which I'm very grateful for given how debilitating it can be.

I always knew I was a kid at heart. ;)

I believe that once you get a chickenpox you'll get immune from that virus the rest of your life. A higher form of this virus may evolve and you are not immune from it.
