I have had a LOT of dyplastic nevi removed in the past year - 5 to 7, I think, or even more. I have lost count. Anyway, recently I have found an oval spot under my right arm that is about an inch to an inch and a half long. It's not scaly or flaky, but it sometimes itches. Because I am a high risk for melanoma, I am always on the lookout for new things on my body. It's pinkish brown and not as dark as a mole. Could this be a new mole that is coming out? I'm 40 years old so I'm hoping I'm too young for age spots yet. LOL I see my dermatologist on the 28th of the month for my six month body scan. Should I go and see her sooner? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Sharon, It is always good to have self skin examination. Anyway can we have a look at it so we could suggest you more. Can u upload the close clear picture, so we can access its morphological structure, variations of color if any. Has it changed its color and size since you last saw it..? is it raised or flat? any black and brow dots within the spot. A close clear picture would be better if you can...

I will try and get my husband to take a picture of it. It will be tricky for me to do it myself because of where it is. It probably is nothing but I'd rather have it checked out and it be nothing than to assume it is nothing and find out later that it was something. Sometimes it looks redder than others but I don't remember any dark spots in it.

I went to see the dermatologist on Tuesday and she gave me some cream to put on it. She says I have it behind my ear too. Thank you for the reply.
