I envy women with high cheekbones. Is there a specific way to apply a blusher so that I can give my cheekbones a more prominent look? What sort of brush should I use?

The following tips may help you:

• Keep application soft; blush should never be an obvious stripe.
• Build up colour slowly; start with less and add more if needed.
• After applying, contour to shape your cheekbone. Focus your blush colour on the apples of the cheek; blend upward and outward, sweeping the blush up to meet between your temple and the top of your ear.
• Finish by highlighting the top of your cheekbones with a light shimmer to accent shape.

This subtle emphasis will help give you the illusion of higher cheekbones / more shape to your face, and the appearance of a sheer healthy glow. As far as the brush is concerned you can use a normal blush on else a brush that is a little bigger than the normal ones.

use bronzer! you have to contour your face so that your jaw is darker than your cheekbones, and you also need to use a highlighter on the tops of your cheeks, but bellow your eyes to illuminate them. also, use peach blush.

I agree to what ashma and chicque said. In additon with these, I suggest you to try to use blusher that you think would best suit your skin tone. Being comfortable while using it is really a must thing. If you feel attractive with a blush on to your face then why not. But if not there must be something wrong. You must do something out of it. Being confident will make you even prettier and I guess thats what make the blush on fits you as well.

Purchase a blush palette which enhances your skin tone. The palette should consist of a dark tone, medium tone and light tone.
Apply the darkest tone just below the check bones; even if not prominent at this time. Do not apply past the corner of the outer eye.
Apply the medium shade and blend well all the way to the hairline.
Finally, highlight the check bones with the lightest shade. You should see that your round face will look naturally thinner and has an apparent glow.

A blush palette will add dimension which can not be achieved with just one ordinary color.

Also, you have to be detailed with the brush cause each brush has it's purpose.

If you want to highlight your cheekbones, you can do this by using either a bronzer or slightly darker blush in the shaded areas of your face when you make the 'fish face' (sucking in your cheeks making your cheek bones protrude and your lips come together tightly etc)
Once you brush the darker color into the shaded areas, (under your natural cheekbones) you can put a little bit of highlighter or lighter shade (like a whiteish or pearlescent shade of eyeshadow or of the like) right above your natural cheekbone area (what would be the areas below your eye)
