How often should I change my nail color and how to decide which is the best color. I like to wear darker colors but they do not look very good during the day. How do I know if I am filling my nails correctly.

I am not a nail technician but I was told by one that I worked with to use the darker colors in the fall and winter. LIghter shell pinks and corals in the spring and brighter reds in the summer.
I do not like the bright reds so I try to use a salmon or something that is opalescent in the summer months.

i agree with starchild47. lighter colors on your toes in the summer is in! and if you want to be a little daring, try bright neon yellow :) but to be on the safe side, stick with pink.

I only use colorless both on my toenails and fingernails. I don't like coloring them because after a day or so I would need to get them done again because parts of it gets chapped or scratched away.

What I like is the silver and light brown nail colors on other's nails, not mine :) I would still prefer the colorless ones on my own nails since I want my nails to look natural.

I analyzed all the suggestions posted by you, friends. I found choosing the right color for my nails can be a tricky affair. It’s best to go with something that suits my skin tone. In my case, most light pinks and light browns look nice. Earthy tones also matches any color clothes I wear, may be in your case. Ok, I should be refrained from wearing darker colors and will stick to light one.

Thanks friends for your valuable suggestions.

I really like the opalescent or pearlized colors for the spring and summer. They add a sheen and look a bit different when the light hits them. I have seen some really pretty ones that I like to use.
