Hi, I got this itchy rash a couple of days ago, and I have no clue what it is or why I've got it. See these pictures:

I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures, but can anyone see what it is?

Normally it looks like Urticaria ( Hives ) have you taken any medications ? just take some Anti-histamine medications like Cetirizine (Zyrtec), Loratadine( Claritin,Alavert), Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or prescription anti-histamine fexofenadine ( Allegra) it will go in 3-4 days..

I haven't taken anything yet, but I have an appointment with my doctor next wednesday. I think I'll wait until then.. Thanks for answering though!

Could the fabric on a new t-shirt cause this? Or maybe getting too warm when exercising? I can't remember eating anything new..

Well excessive heat or sweat might also cause, just make sure to avoid it. But again second thought what comes on my mind is, somewhat resemble like Pityriasis rosea too.. as pics are not so clear so hard to diagnose, so have you had any kind of symptoms like fever headache or throat pain before u got this rash ? When did it really occured, was there any single rash before it spread ? is it your first time getting this or you had it previously, cause Pityriasis rosea usually won't appear twice. Pityriasis rosea is self limiting and no treatment is needed though.

Anyway u are going to the doctor, there is nothing to worry about, but if that itch a lot u can always apply topical calamine lotions which will soothe itching.

- This is the first time I've had this
- I've had a sore throat but I think that was for other reasons
- I'm not sure where it started.. I think it was on the side of my stomach, or where the t-shirt meets the throat/neck

It barely itches, so I guess I'll wait until the doctors appointment. I'll be back here with an update then, and maybe better pictures.

The doctor says it's pityriasis rosia, so I guess that's confirmed. He said the same things you said (no treatment other than against itching, and that it usually disappears after 4-8 weeks).

Thank you for the updates. Well so u needn't worry then. Its self limiting condition and even the worse case goes by itself and in your case it just looks mild. Be sure to follow if any recommendations by your dermatologist. If not already told be sure not to use hot showers and avoid wool and acrylic fabrics clothes, wear cotton clothes. If the rash doesn't subside after 6-8 weeks consult your dermatologist. Lets us know if you have any doubt and confusion in your mind that you would like to know.

Do keep in touch with us.
Thanks,
Deepak

So it's been a little more than a month, and the rash is almost completely gone! What's left is a couple of small scars, but that I can live with.

Nice to hear that rash has gone. Permanent scaring due to PR is rare, but sometimes may occur especially in black peoples.
